• 〜のに (although / despite)たくさん勉強したのに、テストに落ちました。Even though I studied a lot, I failed the test.
• 〜ものの (although / even though)申し込んだものの、まだ返事が来ない。Although I applied, I still haven't gotten a reply.
• 〜わりに (considering / for)この店は安いわりに、料理がおいしい。For how cheap it is, this restaurant's food is delicious.
• 〜まま (in the state of / unchanged)電気をつけたまま寝てしまった。I fell asleep with the lights left on.
